On Malo more Beach
Our website aims at collecting information about Arbanija, the tourist village situated on the northern coast of Čiovo Island. The western end of the place shares a border with Mastrinka, the borderline is marked by the Sv. Križ (Holy Cross) Monastery. The road from Arbanija to east goes to Slatine.

The whole coastline of Arbanija is pleasant for beach activities, the beaches, apart from the built out public ones, are rocky with concrete terraces here and there. The shore on the man-made beaches (Malo more and at the harbor) is Dalmatia's typical gravel beach.

Accommodation is provided by a host of apartment houses. Basic goods, food and drinks can be bought in Arbanija's two grocery stores (Tomy, Ribola). The hungry and thirsty guests are welcome at several local restaurants and taverns (Konoba Timun, Pizzeria Kod Ive, the restaurant of Villa Tina) and there are a couple of bars (Škrapa, Porat) in Arbanija, too. Škrapa Bar is also the place to rent a boat.

There are two things to consider when planning a vacation in Arbanija. Across Arbanija, on the mainland is situated the airport of Split - the noise generated by airplanes landing or taking off may disturb some. The other thing is that one of the water quality assessment in 2008 wasn't favorable for Arbanija, as the quality didn't meet the high standards of the Adriatic - in 2007, though, water quality was excellent, data of 2009 are not yet available.

Out of the historical monuments in the area the Sv. Križ Monastery, once a Dominican monastery founded in 1432, situated where Arbanija and Mastrinka meet, stands out. The cemetery on its side is accessible for anyone, however, the building itself can be visited only by arrangement.

To further our introduction of this settlement, you are kindly invited to visit our page with photos of Arbanija and that with a short video. Our directory contains links to Arbanija-related websites and the map shows several points of interest of the place.
